Sometimes when you have a dog, you have it to protect you from strangers. But when you have a cute dog, it actually attracts strangers. So when strangers come up to our cute dog and ask if they can pet it I say, "Sure." Then I say to the dog, "Stay down Killer." That seems to make them pet for a shorter time.
We were at our son Matt's first soccer game of the year today. They played incredibly well considering it had been about 5 months since their last game. 3 different people came up and had to ask about the dog. I am not ashamed, I am in the crowd now. But one thing about it, dog people know that Murphy is a mixed breed. Dog people know their dogs. I guess it's in the same way I can tell a Fender Stratocaster guitar from the audience at a concert. So Matt's coach, in the middle of the game, comes over and asks what kind of dog he is. After we explain she says, "We just got a Maltidoodle." I found out later she meant a Matlipoo. It's a cross between a Maltese and a Poodle. Since Murphy is a Golden Doodle, a mixture between a Golden Retriever and a Poodle, I am beginning to realize that apparently people want everything that is good about a poodle except the poodle itself. They have a good temperament, they don't shed, and they are easily traded or exchanged for jewelry. But I guess what they don't want is this:

Which is why we are finding all kinds of crazy cross breeds with poodles.
There is the crocapoodle which is a cross between a Crocodile and poodle.
The Magnadoodle is a poodle from the west side.
The cougadoodle is a cross between a cougar and a poodle.
The coodle is a cross between a cat and a poodle.
The hamdoodle is a cross between a pig and a poodle.
You get the idea.
Well, we have also found a number of crosses with a poodle that just shouldn't take place, simply because the name would just be too offensive.
There's the Stinkypoo, a cross between a skunk and a poodle.
The Brown Doodle (cousin to the Golden Doodle) which is a cross between a bear and a poodle.
The Double Doodle which is when you have twins.
And then there's the Shitzu...
