Words cannot describe my joy

Since I have no creativity of my own, I seek to scour the blogs and ideas of family and friends for my posts recently. Our friends Megan and Hubert recently posted about their trip last week to St. George. It was there that true shock and awe came into my home. An In-N-Out in Utah. The most wonderful creation from Burger-dom is now only a quick 4 1/2 hour drive away?!!?!? And those fries, those fries, those fries! This truly is the promised land! I can practically smell the chopped onions sauteing, and the cheese partially but not fully melting over the fresh cut fries, and the aromatic delicacies wafting throughout the state as we hear cries of "Animal Style", and "3 x 3". It's enough to make a grown man pretend to go to work and put an extra 600 miles on his car in one day.

To give you perspective on how good these burgers are, and I am sure you have tried them, on a recent business trip my brother-in-law Matt and I were in Carlsbad, CA. En route from the airport to our meeting location we had the taxi driver take us through the drive-in at In-N-Out burger and then to our hotel. We then proceeded to take our animal style burger, fries and shakes through the lobby at the Four Seasons Aviara and plop right down and devour our delectables, creating a minor stir as the hooty-hoos raised eyebrows and whispered gasps. Never you mind, expensive-hotel-food eaters, we have no plans to wipe the special sauce off our faces. At least not until our meetings begin....tomorrow.

Needless to say, I enjoy them. I enjoy them alot. I am glad to hear they are near. Somehow, it makes life's little trials all the easier. If you really want your taste buds to start dripping, check out the not-so-secret menu.

Thank you Megan. Thank you.

YES! We too are in-and-out fans, so when I was on a girls trip to St. George last weekend I was shocked and ecstatic to see the beautiful yellow arrow just off the freeway. Then I was crushed and saddened to see the lines. Yes, there must have been at least an hour wait in both the drive through and out the restaurant door. We drove by on several occaissons to check and it was always the same. My two girlfriends were not willing to wait, alas it has been 1 year since my last real in-and-out foray. Once in a while I go down to Lehi and eat with Steve at the wanna be copy cat place, but it just can't compare. Sigh.

It's not often that I am able to shine a little bit of light into someone else's life, but I'm glad that I was able to give you a ray of hope in this state full of Big Mac's, Whoppers, and whatever Wendy's makes. And there is no shame in putting that 600 miles onto your car, none at all. In fact, as I am writing this, I'm debating on whether or not I would beat Hubert home from work if I left right now for St. George. Alas, I cannot, but maybe one day...just maybe.

Good game last night. We'll have to set up a speed Scrabble tournament as a guise to get you down here to play Halo sometime. ;)
