Well, yesterday was my birthday. That's right, I went to work on my birthday. My wife and I celebrated with a day of shopping, dining, movie watching and a night away last Friday, so to me that was the real celebration. So my actual birthday got here and it was a little of an afterthought. Not in a bad way by any means, but I felt like the celebration had occurred, I had done exactly what I wanted, spending time with my beautiful and incredibly fun wife, birthday time had ended so to speak. Well, a week or so ago Matt and Jenny gave us tickets to see
Have you ever discovered music you already knew? I mean, you know the artist, know the songs, but you hear it under certain circumstances and it's like you have never heard it before? This was that kind of night. The clouds rolled in, cooling it down, people and more people crammed into this little strip of garden, the guy came out in a pink suit, A PINK SUIT for crying out loud! (see picture) It was a moment in time when all the elements of a situation come together to create magic. That's right, I said it. Magic. If you haven't heard Chris sing, it's incredible what he can do. He's 51. Not that that is old, but hey, he still has it. The guy plays guitar, entertains the heck out of people, wears a pink suit, swings his hips like Elvis and he's 51. Talent to the extreme. Jodi said it became #3 in her "All Time Life Changing Music Events". It became my #4. If you don't have that list, get one. Now, I am gorging on his music. I know I need moderation. But he has a sound that is very summer, windows down, sunset, date-night, 'I wish I lived by the beach because I really should have been a beach bum' feeling. Thanks again Matt and Jen, it was a wonderful gift!
