If it smells like funk....

Last night, after preparing to retire for the night my wife and I were noticing a smell in our room. A pretty distinct smell, what we thought was a dog poop or messy diaper smell. But since we don't have a dog and our diapered child was in bed asleep, we began to investigate. It can be pretty interesting searching for a smell, oh the places you smell. After intense investigation, our noses were directed to the foot of our bed. After lifting the comforter up we noticed that there was something in the nether reaches of our bed, that no-man's land that is the end of the bed where the sheets tuck in and is out of reach of foot. Usually reserved as a final resting place for single socks until the sheets are washed. But this thing had substance, weight, and without a doubt, smell. Fearing the worst, my wife retrieved the item, which I was sure was a dead rat. In fact, it was.....a sippy cup filled with what was once milk. Ahhhhh, children and joys they bring. Forensic evidence proved that the milk had probably been there 1 to 2 weeks, since we had just returned from a week long vacation. So, beware of things lurking at the end of your bed. I guess we are lucky, it could have been a pizza. How would you possibly explain that.

holy smokes - this is so close to home. I have had the same experience finding a milky bottle in the back of the van under the seat. Hot. Chunky. You'd almost rather chuck it than even attempt clean it out - because then you'd have to open it and release the full fury.
